Reception and Customer Care

Course Description

This programme will equip you with the skills required to be a competent front line representative across a wide range of organisations.  It is suitable for those who wish to develop the skills necessary to provide consistently high standards of customer service to the public.  You will learn how to be customer focused. 

The qualification will assist you in finding employment on reception desks, in customer service departments as well as equipping you to work in general office administration.  There is a strong emphasis also on developing the necessary ICT skills for office work.

Entry Requirements

Leaving Certificate, LCVP, LCA or a Level 4.  Mature students are very welcome.  Access to this programme will be decided by interview. 

Work Experience

Work Experience is a core element of this programme providing an opportunity to put skills developed on the programme into use in a real working environment.  It allows students to create links with employers. 

Career Opportunities

Graduates may progress within KCFE to the Level 6 Advanced Certificate in Administration/Office Management.   

Alternatively, graduates can compete for places on a range of Higher Certificate and Degree programmes in third level institutions.

Customer Service Representative, Customer Care and Support, Telesales Agent, Call Centre Operator, Receptionist, Office Administration etc.  Examples of employers may include Vodafone, Three, FEXCO, Call Centres, Hotels,  etc. 

Course Fees

Registration fee is €150. Government Levy €200 - exemptions with valid medical card or evidence that you qualify for Maintenance Grant/Back to Education Allowance. Details of any other fees available on request from college office.
